Do You Know What The “True” Gospel Is?
Yeshua/Jesus as well as the Apostles preached the “gospel”! But what is the “true” gospel? Do you know what it is? Do you believe it was the same gospel that the Apostle Paul preached to the gentiles? When you read or hear the term “gospel,” do you know what it means? We will take a look at the Scriptures to see how the Scriptures answers these questions.
Yeshua commanded in Mark 1:15 “repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Most people in the Church do not truly understand what this is saying. So, what exactly is it that we are supposed to believe? What is the “true” gospel? Do you know? Are you certain you know what it really is? Please be careful of making any assumptions. For instance, did Messiah Yeshua teach the same gospel that Paul preached to the gentiles? And what does the word “gospel” mean anyway? These are some hard questions we need to ask ourselves. We need to be grounded in the written Word and as it is written in 2 Timothy:
2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto Elohim [Mighty One/God], a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
It is sad to report that the majority of professing Christians around the world do not know the vital—all-important—answers to these basic questions and many others related to the “true” gospel written in the Scriptures! The reason for not knowing what the “true” gospel really is or having a clear understanding of what it really is boils down to the simple fact that it has been hidden from the world for centuries!
When Yeshua first came, He came as a first-century newscaster if you will, bringing advance “good news” of staggering events that were about to occur just beyond the horizon, and all the bad news occurring throughout today’s world. This climactic news involves you, and eventually every human being on earth!
Did you know there are six new books published on religion every day in America! Staggering! On top of that there are over two thousand separate religions in America alone! How sad! What is really sad about all these books is they are confusing and they often disagree about the answers to humanity’s problems. Troubles, woes, evils and human difficulties of every kind are multiplying every day. World peace is escaping us more and more each day. We live in a YHWH hating, Yeshua rejecting, sin cursed world. We have to ask, WHY?
There is so much knowledge available to mankind and yet mankind is so ignorant of the truths of life’s BIG questions.
All this has everything to do with the gospel!
In Revelation 12:9, it reveals to us “Satan, …deceiveth the whole world.” This is a staggering statement to say the least! Do you believe it? If this is true, then it would certainly apply to the true meaning and correct understanding of the gospel!
Many False Gospels
Most everyone in the Church believes that the gospel is about the person of Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ). Certainly, Yeshua plays an extremely important and central role to Christianity but He is not the gospel. The Scriptures show us that Yeshua is preached in conjunction with the gospel. Again, Yeshua’s role is enormous. But He is not the gospel. I know this is probably hard to swallow but hang in there with me. This will be cleared up in this teaching.
Some people proclaim a “gospel of salvation,” others a “gospel of grace.” Still others believe a “gospel of miracles” or a “social gospel.” Yet others think of the “gospel of foods” or of “healing” or of “faith.” And there are some who merely think of “gospel music” when they hear this word. These man-made ideas all ignore the truth of what is written in the Scriptures about what the true gospel really is!
Let’s take a look at Mark’s account:
Mark 1:14: Now after that John was put in prison, Yeshua came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of Elohim [Mighty One/God].
This is the gospel that Yeshua preached. It was in this same context that Yeshua said, “repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Which gospel?…of the “Kingdom of Elohim.”
In Mark 1:1, he refers to this message, where it states, “The beginning of the gospel of Yeshua Messiah.”
One must believe that gospel and not a humanly-devised counterfeit or substitute.
STRONG WARNING--DO NOT PERVERT THE GOSPEL
The subject of the gospel is so important that YHWH inspired the Apostle Paul to warn the Galatians then and to us today not to pervert the gospel message:
Galatians 1:6-9: 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Messiah unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Messiah. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Did you pick up the warning given above was stated twice? There is a purpose for it being stated twice. That purpose is simple. We have been given two witnesses to this stern warning. This is a blunt statement made twice and a strong warning to all who will heed the warning!
In Galatians 2:5, Paul stressed his hope that the “truth of the gospel might continue with you.” There is one true gospel with all others being false!
Some have asserted that Paul taught a different or additional gospel. When we carefully read Paul’s writings, it is plain to see that he never did teach a different or additional gospel than what was taught to him. Interestingly, YHWH used Paul to warn against ever allowing any false teachings of the gospel by pronouncing a curse on any man, angel or apostles as it is written in Galatians 1:8: “But though we [Apostles] or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” Clearly, anyone who violates this command is cursed.
This is a stern and powerful WARNING given to us from the Scriptures! It would be in our best interest to know what the “true” gospel is so as not to teach “another” gospel and bring upon ourselves a curse.
Paul clearly stated that the Apostles were entrusted by YHWH to preserve the “true” gospel. Did you notice what Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 2:4: “But as we [Apostles] were allowed of Elohim to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but Elohim, which tries [test] our hearts.”
It should be clear that this is a responsibility which should not to be taken lightly. True teachers of the Word of Almighty YHWH must always, without exception, teach what YHWH Commands and not what pleases men (including Bible “teachers/preachers/scholars”). For those who “claim” that Paul taught a different or second gospel (usually thought to be about Messiah or of “peace”) is impossible. Had Paul taught a different or additional gospel, he himself by his own words would have literally pronounced a curse on himself!
Yeshua Was Prophesied to Bring the Gospel
In the Tanach (Old Covenant/Testament), Yeshua was prophesied to come as a Messenger as it is written in Malachi:
Malachi 3:1: Behold, I will send My messenger [John the Immerser/Baptiser], and he shall prepare the way before Me [Yeshua]: and the Master [Yeshua], Whom you seek, shall suddenly come to His Temple, even the Messenger [Yeshua] of the Covenant, Whom you delight in.
Yeshua was the “Messenger” of the gospel, not the message itself. Yeshua’s message is the very core/centerpiece if you will of the entire Scriptures.
Now let’s compare the passage in Malachi we just looked at with Luke:
Luke 16:16: The Torah [Law/YHWH’s Teachings and Instructions] and the Prophets were until John [Please note here that only the Tanach/Old Covenant/Testament Scriptures had been preached previously]: since that time the Kingdom of YHWH is preached, and every man presses into it.
Do you remember in Mark 1:14 above where Yeshua preached the “Kingdom of YHWH,” and called it the gospel?
What is the Meaning of the term “Gospel”?
The word gospel is an old English word meaning “god spell” or good news. The word kingdom is also an old English term, simply meaning “government.” Therefore, it is accurate to say that Yeshua preached “the good news of the coming government of YHWH.”
The Kingdom of YHWH is the dominant theme throughout the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. It is sad to say that most people know little if anything of the “true” gospel. Ministers around the world do not appear to know what the “true” gospel is because they teach/preach what has been taught to them and not what is written in the Scriptures. This is not to say that all ministers are teaching another gospel. Some are teaching the correct, true gospel as given to us in the Written Word of Almighty YHWH. Those who are being taught another gospel around the world are in complete ignorance of the single greatest truth in YHWH’s Set-Apart (Holy) Written Word! Which is to repent for the Kingdom of YHWH is at hand.
How Many Times Is The Gospel Mentioned?
The word gospel is found over 100 times in the Scriptures depending on your translation. Sometimes it is found alone and sometimes “of the Kingdom” follows it. Other times, it includes “of the Kingdom of Elohim” or an equal phrase like “of the Kingdom of Heaven.” When you see “of the Kingdom of Elohim” or “of the Kingdom of Heaven,” both are speaking of one and the same thing, YHWH’s government coming here on earth when Yeshua comes to establish YHWH’s government on earth.
Please note the text says “of heaven” and not “in heaven.” It is heaven’s Kingdom and there is a big difference between the two. Just as the Kingdom of Elohim means YHWH’s Kingdom and not the Kingdom in YHWH, so the same is true of the Kingdom of Heaven or Heaven’s Kingdom.
This is an important concept to grab a hold of here! His Kingdom will be established here on earth and not in heaven.
Throughout the Brit Chadasha (New Covenant/Testament), the word “kingdom” is found 27 times, “Kingdom of Elohim” 75 times, and “Kingdom of Heaven” 34 times. There again depending on your translation. All are clearly pointing to one and the same thing.
What Did Paul Preach
Paul preached the Kingdom of YHWH to the gentiles. Yet, some believe that Paul preached a “different” gospel not taking into account that it was Paul who pronounced a curse on anyone who did teach/preach a different gospel. We will revisit what Paul wrote in Galatians:
Galatians 1:8-9: 8 But though we [Apostles], or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I [Paul] now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
While Paul preached the Kingdom of YHWH, we need to look at two verses in the book of Acts where it is written that Paul did not neglect the subject of Yeshua’s role in the salvation process. The first place in Acts 19 establishes “which” gospel Paul preached:
Acts 19:8: And he [Paul] went into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the Kingdom of Elohim.
In many of Paul’s epistles, he taught the Kingdom to different gentile congregations. Paul’s message was always the same. He continually taught/preached and referred to the Kingdom of Elohim.
Next we will look at Acts 20:
Acts 20:25, 21: 25 I have gone preaching the Kingdom of Elohim 21 …repentance toward YHWH, AND faith toward our Master [Lord] Yeshua Messiah.
Paul preached the same gospel to the Jew and to the Gentile. Now let’s look at Acts 28:
Acts 28:30-31: 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, 31 preaching the Kingdom of Elohim, AND teaching those things which concern the Master [Lord] Yeshua Messiah.
Luke, who wrote the book of Acts, differentiates between preaching about the Kingdom of YHWH and preaching about Messiah Yeshua! Both are vitally important. However, they are clearly two distinct and separate subjects! Please keep this in mind as we continue our study here on the gospel message.
We see in Acts where Philip who was one of the deacons also preached the Kingdom and Messiah Yeshua just as Paul did:
Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip…concerning the Kingdom of YHWH, AND the name of Yeshua Messiah, they were baptized, both men and women.
We see here that Philip not only preached the Kingdom of YHWH but he also differentiated it from the teaching about Yeshua Messiah. Remember, it was stated earlier that the Messenger is not The Message.
Notice in the above Scripture (Acts 8:12) that those in Samaria were baptized after “they believed” the right message and not some man’s idea about it. Also note here that Yeshua’s name was taught as an all-important but additional, understanding. The name of Yeshua simply means “Yah Saves” or “Yah is salvation” or “Salvation.” Yeshua’s Set-Apart (Holy) name reflected His purpose/destiny—to save His people.
Yeshua is not the gospel. However, Yeshua does stand directly alongside the true gospel and He will rule the entire earth when He returns and establishes YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth. Do not lose sight of this very important fact!
Let’s look at one more verse in 2 Corinthians which contains another powerful warning where Paul himself made a distinction between the gospel and the person of Yeshua Messiah:
2 Corinthians 11:4: For if he that comes preaches another Yeshua, whom we [Apostles] have not preached…OR another gospel which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.
In the margin of some Bibles, they more correctly render this last phrase as “with me” rather than “with him.” Paul wanted the Corinthians to reject false teachers and hold to what he had taught them. The point here is that Paul distinguishes between the teaching of a false Yeshua and that of a false gospel. These are and always have been two separate things.
Some people get confused when reading the first four verses in 1 Corinthians 15 thinking that Paul has contradicted himself from other passages we have seen by stating in verse 1 “the gospel” and connecting it with verses 3 and 4 where it says “how that Messiah died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He [Yeshua] was buried, and that He rose again the third day.” A careful reading of these verses will reveal that “the true gospel” which is the Kingdom of YHWH to come is not connected to the death, burial and resurrection of Yeshua for our sins. When we grasp this and correctly understand what the text is saying to us, we see that these verses are in harmony and support what is written in Acts 8:12; 20:25, 21; 28:30-31 and 2 Corinthians 11:4 as already noted above.
Since Yeshua preached “repent and believe the gospel,” it should be crystal clear to all of us why He taught/preached about the coming Kingdom of YHWH. Yeshua’s role must always be preached in conjunction with the Kingdom of YHWH, because no one can enter into the Kingdom of YHWH unless they understand and accept that “Messiah Yeshua died for their sins,” AND that person has repented of their sins. These two things are connected and cannot be separated. We MUST repent before we can enter into the Kingdom of YHWH to come.
Ask yourself: If Yeshua IS the gospel as many believe it is, then why did Paul four times and Philip speak of them as two separate matters?
Apostles Preached The Same Gospel
Do we have evidence in other Brit Chadasha (New Covenant/Testament) writings where the Apostles preached this same message that Paul preached and taught? The answer is YES!
The Apostle Peter preached and taught the Kingdom of YHWH:
2 Peter 1:11: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting Kingdom of our Master and Savior Yeshua Messiah.
The Apostle James also preached and taught the Kingdom of YHWH:
James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, has not Elohim chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which He [Yeshua] has promised to them that love Him?
Both of these passages agree with Paul’s teaching about the soon coming Kingdom of YHWH.
YHWH’s Prophets Preached the Kingdom
We read in Acts where the prophets of old spoke of the coming Kingdom of YHWH:
Acts 3:19-21: 19 Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Master; 20 And He [YHWH] shall send Yeshua Messiah, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which Elohim has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
Notice here that Peter refers to the Coming of Yeshua in Acts 3:19 as “the presence of the Master.” Peter is speaking of Yeshua’s Second Coming to establish YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth. In Acts 3:20, it states that YHWH “shall send Yeshua Messiah.” There again referring to Yeshua’s Second Coming. In Acts 3:21, it describes YHWH’s Kingdom as the “restitution of all things.” We know this has not happened at this point and will only take place when Yeshua comes to set-up YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth. Peter stated that this “restitution” where Yeshua establishes YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth is something “Elohim has spoken by the mouth of all His Holy Prophets since the world began.”
Is it true that all the prophets of old spoke of the coming Kingdom of YHWH? Is this true?
Is it possible that YHWH actually used all of His prophets to announce His coming Kingdom? Some Bible scholars, pastors, preachers and teachers ignore this knowledge and they even reject it without examining the text carefully.
Let’s look at some examples.
The Pre-flood Preachers
The Apostle Jude, Yeshua’s brother, stated:
Jude 14-15: Enoch [Noah’s great-grandfather]…prophesied…saying, Behold, the Master comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment upon all.
These verses clearly refer to Yeshua’s Second Coming to execute His Righteous Judgment upon a YHWH hating, Yeshua rejecting, sin cursed world to establish YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth.
We know from 2 Peter that Noah as the eighth preacher of righteousness:
2 Peter 2:5: And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Jude wrote that Enoch was the “seventh from Adam:”
Jude 14: And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam…
These men were called “preachers of righteousness.” Including Abel, there were six other men who previously held this role, with their lives spanning the entire period between Adam and the Flood.
Careful review of Jude reveals that Enoch preached about sin and righteousness. All of these “preachers” spoke the same message. Remember, Peter said, “…since the world began.”
After The Flood -- Abraham, Moses and Samuel
Was the gospel preached after the Flood?
In Genesis 12:3, YHWH said to Abraham, “…in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.” This verse is also referenced in Galatians 3:8, yet it is stated a little differently: “…in you shall all nations be blessed.” This same verse states that the gospel was “preached before unto Abraham.” In order to be blessed, one has to repent of their sins and obey/keep/do the Commandments written in the Scriptures. This in turn prepares us to enter into YHWH’s Kingdom. Not only did Abraham have the gospel preached to him but it was also preached in Genesis through Moses writings. How can all nations be blessed unless Yeshua establishes YHWH’s Government on earth? It should be clear to everyone that there has never been any man-made government system that has ever accomplished this to date. It shall be accomplished when Yeshua comes the second time to set-up YHWH’s World Government System here on earth.
Looking at Acts 3, it shows that Moses preached the coming Kingdom when he foretold that YHWH would raise up Yeshua as a Great Prophet as noted in Deuteronomy:
Deuteronomy 18:15: YHWH thy Elohim will raise up unto thee a Prophet [Yeshua] from the midst of thee, of thy brethren [from the tribe of Judah], like unto me [Moses]; unto Him [Yeshua] ye shall hearken;
Now consider Hebrews 4:2:
Hebrews 4:2: For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them [ancient Israelites].
These verses, along with Acts 3, show that this included the period all the way up to and through the prophet Samuel.
Notice how Acts 3:24 references Samuel as having preached the gospel:
Acts 3:24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days [speaking of YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth].
These are clear and powerful statements that cannot be glossed over. Take a moment to reflect on what you have read thus far. As noted in Acts 3:24 above, “all [of YHWH’s] prophets…as many as have spoken…foretold of these days.”
David was one of Israel’s kings. Even he preached the Kingdom of YHWH in Psalm 67:4 where he wrote, “…for You [YHWH] shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.” This obviously is referring to YHWH’s soon coming Kingdom. We know nations are on earth and not in heaven!
Isaiah and Jeremiah
Looking at the prophet Isaiah, he wrote:
Isaiah 9:6-7: 6 For unto us a Child [Yeshua] is born, unto us a Son [of YHWH] is given: and the Government shall be upon His [Yeshua’s] shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty Elohim, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His Government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever.
This prophecy speaks for itself!
Looking at the prophet Jeremiah, he wrote:
Jeremiah 23:5-6: 5 Behold, the days come, says the Master, that I [YHWH] will raise unto David a Righteous Branch [Messiah Yeshua], and a King [Yeshua] shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Also read Jeremiah chapters 7 and 8.
The prophet Jeremiah clearly preached the gospel.
Ezekiel and Daniel
In Ezekiel 36, he is writing to the descendants of Israel living today:
Ezekiel 36:24: For I [YHWH] will take you [Israelites] from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries [nations], and will bring you [Israelites] into your own land [Israel].
This is speaking of the Great Second Exodus of ALL Israel that is soon to take place.
Looking at the prophecy written in Ezekiel 36, we see where it describes a period of rebuilding and national prosperity that can only happen after Yeshua’s return:
Ezekiel 36:25-35: 25 Then will I [YHWH] sprinkle clean water upon you [Israelites], and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I [YHWH] give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk [be obedient] in My Statutes, and ye shall keep My Judgments, and do them. 28 And ye shall dwell in the land [Israel] that I gave to your fathers [Abraham, Isaac and Jacob]; and ye shall be My People, and I will be your Elohim. 29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. 30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen. 31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe [hate/dislike/despise/abhor] yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities [Torahlessness/Lawlessness] and for your abominations. 32 Not for your sakes do I [YHWH] this, saith the Master YHWH, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel. 33 Thus saith the Master YHWH; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities [Torahlessness/Lawlessness] I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded. 34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. 35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
In Daniel 2, it is written:
Daniel 2:44: And in the days of these kings shall the Elohim of heaven set up a Kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the Kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it [YHWH’s Kingdom] shall break in pieces and consume all these [mans] kingdoms, and it [YHWH’s Kingdom] shall stand forever.
It is clear that the prophets Ezekiel and Daniel preached the Kingdom of YHWH.
With the possible exception of Jonah who may have preached the Kingdom of YHWH outside his book, all of the Minor Prophets recorded the gospel of the Kingdom of YHWH in one way or another.
You will remember seeing the phrase “the gospel of the Kingdom of YHWH” is not the only proper way of describing this soon coming government. We have already looked at Genesis 12:3 and Galatians 3:8 where we have seen a difference in the way it is expressed.
In each of the following verses, you will find that they refer either directly or indirectly to the Kingdom of YHWH:
Hosea 2:16: And it [My/YHWH’s Kingdom] shall be at that day, saith YHWH, that thou [Israel] shalt call Me Ishi [My Husband/literally “my Man”]; and shalt call Me no more Baali [My idol, Lord over me, Master].
Hosea 2:19: And I [YHWH] will betroth thee [Israel] unto Me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee [Israel] unto Me [YHWH] in Righteousness, and in Judgment, and in Lovingkindness, and in Mercies.
Hosea 3:5: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek YHWH their Elohim, and David their king; and shall fear YHWH and His goodness in the latter days.
Joel 2:21-27: 21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for YHWH will do great things. 22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. 23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in YHWH your Elohim: for He [YHWH] hath given you [Israel] the former rain moderately, and He [YHWH] will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month [Abib—March/April]. 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 And I [YHWH] will restore to you [Israel] the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye [Israel] shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of YHWH your Elohim, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and My People [Israel-all tribes] shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I [YHWH] am in the midst of Israel, and that I am YHWH your Elohim, and none else: and My People shall never be ashamed.
Amos 9:11-15: 11 In that day will I [YHWH] raise up the Tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his [David’s] ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: 12 That they [Israel] may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by My Name, saith YHWH that doeth this. 13 Behold, the days come, saith YHWH, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. 14 And I [YHWH] will bring again the captivity of My People of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 15 And I [YHWH] will plant them upon their land [Israel], and they [Israelites] shall no more be pulled up out of their land [Israel] which I [YHWH] have given them, saith YHWH thy Elohim.
Obadiah 21: The deliverers will ascend Mount Zion to judge the mountain of Esau, And the Kingdom will be YHWH’s.
Malachi 3:1-3: 1 Behold, I [YHWH] will send My messenger [John the Immerser/Baptizer], and he shall prepare the way before Me [Yeshua]: and the Master [Yeshua], whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His Temple, even the Messenger [Yeshua] of the Covenant, Whom ye delight in: behold, He [Yeshua] shall come, saith YHWH of hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of His [Yeshua] coming? and who shall stand when He [Yeshua] appeareth? for He [Yeshua] is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: 3 And He [Yeshua] shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and He [Yeshua] shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto YHWH an offering in righteousness.
Micah 4:1-3: 1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of YHWH shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of YHWH, and to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; and He will teach us of His Ways, and we will walk in His paths: for the Torah [Law/YHWH’s Teachings and Instructions] shall go forth of Zion, and the Word of YHWH from Jerusalem. 3 And He [Yeshua] shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Habakkuk 2:14: For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of YHWH, As the waters cover the sea. This is speaking of the Kingdom.
Zephaniah 3:14-20: 14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. 15 YHWH hath taken away thy [Israel’s] judgments, He [YHWH] hath cast out thine [Israel’s] enemy: the king of Israel, even YHWH, is in the midst of thee [Israel]: thou [Israel] shalt not see evil any more. 16 In that day [during the soon coming Kingdom of YHWH] it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou [Israel] not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack [abandon]. 17 YHWH thy Elohim in the midst of thee [Israel] is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing. 18 I [YHWH] will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee [Israel], to whom the reproach of it was a burden. 19 Behold, at that time I [YHWH] will undo all that afflict thee [Israel]: and I [YHWH] will save her [Israel] that halteth, and gather her [Israel] that was driven out; and I [YHWH] will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. 20 At that time will I bring you [Israel] again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith YHWH.
Zechariah 14:1-3: 1 Behold, the day of YHWH cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I [YHWH] will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city [Jerusalem] shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished [raped]; and half of the city [Jerusalem] shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall YHWH go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.
Zechariah 14:8-9: 8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea [Ancient-east/Dead Sea], and half of them toward the hinder sea [Mediterranean Sea]: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And YHWH shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall there be One YHWH, and His Name One.
Peter was right. “Elohim has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began…the restitution of all things”—that can only occur with the coming of YHWH’s Kingdom/Government here on earth.
There is one final point that needs to be made from this verse. It says, “Elohim [Mighty One/God] has spoken by the mouth of…” The gospel of the Kingdom of YHWH is a message from YHWH. It should be clear that YHWH speaks through whatever kind of servant He is using be they prophets, patriarchs, judges, deacons, preachers of righteousness, kings, apostles or pastors!
His servants always spoke the same message!
Matthew’s account mentions “gospel of the Kingdom” three times. Notice in Matthew where it is written:
Matthew 9:35: And Yeshua went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
In most of Yeshua’s parables, He taught the basics of the Kingdom of YHWH. Matthew alone makes over fifty references to the Kingdom of YHWH.
Luke records that Yeshua commissioned His disciples to preach this same message:
Luke 9:1-2: 1 Then He [Yeshua] called His twelve disciples together... 2 And He sent them to preach the Kingdom of Elohim.
Soon after that, Yeshua sent seventy others to preach, and they also carried the same message of the “Kingdom of YHWH” as noted in Luke 10:
Luke 10:1: After these things Yeshua appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, whither He Himself would come.
Luke 10:9: But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
When Yeshua stood before Pontius Pilate, He gave an important clue to understanding the Kingdom of YHWH. He said in John 18:
John 18:36: Yeshua answered, My Kingdom is not of this world. If My Kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My Kingdom is not of this realm.
We will be looking at the details of how YHWH’s Kingdom/Government will be established on earth later in this teaching.
Is there a Separate Gospel of Yeshua Messiah?
Looking again at Mark 1:1: “The beginning of the gospel of Yeshua Messiah.” What is the “gospel of Yeshua”? Is this a different/second gospel? Looking back at what Paul wrote, we could ask, did Paul forget about this gospel?
Absolutely Not! However, most modern pastors/preachers/teachers teach that the gospel of Yeshua Messiah is about Yeshua Messiah. They believe and proclaim that Yeshua is the Kingdom of YHWH and that the gospel of the Kingdom refers exclusively to Him. Taking time to carefully read the Scriptures reveals this is not what is written in the Scriptures. The gospel of Yeshua is His gospel which is His message about the Kingdom of YHWH!
Messengers carry messages. Remember, Yeshua was a Messenger sent from YHWH with an announcement. His message was not about Himself; rather it was about the Kingdom of YHWH! In John 12, Yeshua said:
John 12:49-50: 49 For I [Yeshua] have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He [YHWH] gave Me a Commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His [YHWH’s] Commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.
It is clear that Yeshua functioned as a Messenger/Representative/SPOKESMAN for the coming Kingdom of YHWH.
In John 14, Yeshua said:
John 14:24: The Word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s which sent Me.
Yeshua brought YHWH’s message to the people. This should be clear now! Remember what Yeshua stated in Luke 16:
Luke 16:16: The Torah [Law/YHWH’s Teachings and Instructions] and the prophets were [preached] until John: since that time the Kingdom of Elohim is preached.
What IS the Kingdom of YHWH?
In Matthew 6:33, it is written: “But seek you first the Kingdom of YHWH, and His Righteousness…” If we are to seek something as our first goal and focus in life, we must know exactly what it is!
The Shem Tov Hebrew version of Matthew 6 reads much better than our Greek version. Matthew chapter 6 contains what many call “The Lord’s Prayer” which is also known as the “Disciples Prayer.” In most other languages it is called the “Our Father” prayer so titled after its opening words:
Matthew 6:9-13: 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father in heaven, May Your name be sanctified. 10 May Your Kingdom be blessed. Your will shall be done in heaven and on earth. 11 Give us our bread continually. 12 Forgive us the debt of our sins as we forgive the debt of those who sin against us. 13 Do not bring us into the hands of a test, and protect us from all evil. Amen.
For those interested in learning more about “The Lord’s Prayer” and getting a deeper meaning and understanding of what this prayer is really instructing us to do, I highly recommend purchasing the book titled “A Prayer to Our Father” written by Nehemia Gordon and Keith Johnson. You can get the book from the following link:
Yeshua instructs all believers in Messiah Yeshua to pray “after this manner,” and then continues by adding the phrase, “May Your Kingdom be blessed.” Knowing what we are praying for will make our prayers far more effective and meaningful!
We should all stop here briefly and ask ourselves: What is the Kingdom of YHWH? Again, the word Kingdom simply means “government.” We all realize you cannot have a kingdom/government without a nation to govern. Therefore, a kingdom/government is at least one nation with a government.
There are four basic and necessary components to any kingdom:
(1) There has to be land, property or a territory no matter how large or small it may be. In other words, there must be a specific and definite set of boundaries establishing the size of the kingdom.
(2) There has to be a ruler, king, monarch or governor leading the government.
(3) There has to be people or subjects living within the territory governed.
(4) There needs to be a system of laws and rules to live by and a basic structure of government to govern the people.
No kingdom is complete without all these basic and necessary components.
We have to ask how this applies to YHWH’s Kingdom. Are we to look at the soon coming Kingdom of YHWH literally, and physically as being a place here on earth with people, laws and a presiding ruler over the people?
Most people do not understand these basic elements of the Kingdom of YHWH. Some believe that this Kingdom resides in the hearts of men. Others believe that it is wherever you find a particular church. Still others believe that it is Yeshua Himself. Some believe that it is on earth now. With others believing that it is yet to come but not understanding how or when this will occur.
This is why we see confusion within the Body of Messiah Yeshua!
One MUST Be Born Again INTO the Kingdom Of YHWH
Paul wrote in Colossians 1:18 that Yeshua, after His resurrection, became “the firstborn from the dead,” and in Romans 8:29 it is written “that He [Yeshua] might be the firstborn among many brethren.” When connected, these two verses show that Yeshua is the firstborn from the dead and that many others will follow later. We have to ask when and into what will these others be born?
In John chapter 3, Yeshua said to Nicodemus:
John 3:3: Truly, truly, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of YHWH.
Continuing in John chapter 3:
John 3:6: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
We must grasp and believe what is written above.
Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians:
1 Corinthians 15:50-52: 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of YHWH; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
The resurrection of the dead will occur when Yeshua returns to earth. There must be no misunderstanding of this great event. People who were once fleshly human beings will be changed into spirit beings. They will be born again or a better translation would be born from above and enter into the Kingdom of YHWH.
John 4:24 clearly states that “YHWH is a Spirit.” Under YHWH, Yeshua will lead the Kingdom of His Father which will be composed of resurrected spirit beings and those who did not die who were changed in a twinkling of an eye. At Yeshua’s return, He being a member of the Family of YHWH, will have many younger “brothers and sisters” who will be qualified to rule with Him in YHWH’s Kingdom.
We know there is a plant kingdom consisting of all plant life, an animal kingdom with all animal life, human kingdoms and an angelic kingdom. There is also the Kingdom of YHWH which will consist of spirit beings.
Notice Genesis 1:26 where it is written: “And Elohim said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness.” Referring to Themselves, the One speaking says, “Us,” “Our,” “Our.” This verse reveals that there is more than one Being in the Godhead. In fact, there are two! In this Scripture, the Hebrew word for God is Elohim. This is what is known as a uniplural term like group, team, committee or family, with all of these terms representing one entity.
Thus, we can see that the Scriptures teach us that there is One Elohim/Mighty One and within that One Elohim/Mighty One there is the Father and the Son with many more children to be added later. The first time that YHWH will add more to His Family is at the time of His Kingdom when it is established here on earth.
At that time as it is written in Hebrews 2:10: “many sons shall be brought unto glory” through the work of the “Captain of our salvation.” Hebrews 2:11 says that Yeshua “is not ashamed to call them brethren,” those of whom Yeshua is called the “firstborn.”
Do you see what is described here? A true Believer’s goal, their destiny is to be born into the coming Kingdom/Government of YHWH as a spirit being who will rule under Messiah Yeshua. What could be more wonderful and glorious than for Believer’s to look forward to ruling with Yeshua in YHWH’s Kingdom?
CONDITIONS to Enter INTO the Kingdom of YHWH
In Matthew 19:17, Yeshua said to a young rich man inquiring about eternal life, “…if you will enter into life, keep [obey/do] the Commandments.” Yeshua explained that one must keep the Ten Commandments of which He specifically cited five of the Ten Commandments within Matthew 19:
Matthew 19:18-19: 18 He [the rich young man] saith unto Him [Yeshua], Which? Yeshua said, (1—the 6th Commandment) Thou shalt do no murder, (2—the 7th Commandment) Thou shalt not commit adultery, (3—the 8th Commandment) Thou shalt not steal, (4—the 9th Commandment) Thou shalt not bear false witness, (5—the 5th Commandment) 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, (This Commandment sums up the five Commandments noted in this passage) Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The first four of the Ten Commandments are summed up in Matthew 22:37-38 when Yeshua said: “Yeshua said unto him, Thou shalt love YHWH thy with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Yeshua summed up the last six of the Ten Commandments in Matthew 22:39-40: “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these Two Commandments hang all the Torah [Law/YHWH’s Teachings and Instructions] and the prophets.” Yeshua has taken the Two Commandments which can be broken down to Ten Commandments. From the Ten Commandments, we can break those down even more so into 613 Commandments. The Two Commandments are on the surface. To get a little bid more detail on those Two Commandments we look at the Ten Commandments. To take it to a much deeper level, we look at the 613 Commandments given us in the Torah. A lot is being communicated by Yeshua in these few verses.
In Romans 6:23, Paul wrote, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of Elohim is eternal life through Yeshua Messiah our Master.” You receive wages from your job. These wages constitute payment for work you have done. Wages are something that you earn. Death is what we all have “earned” through our sins! If Yeshua had not paid this penalty/debt for us, the final “paycheck” if you will, would be all people would receive death which would be the ultimate “pink slip.” On the other hand, salvation is a free gift. We cannot earn it.
What is sin? Since committing sin results in death, wouldn’t it be a good idea to know what sin is? 1 John 3:4 tells us what sin is: “Sin is the transgression [the act of violating/not guarding/keeping/doing] of the Torah [Law/YHWH’s Teachings and Instructions].” This is the same Law that the young rich man was told he must obey to inherit eternal life.
Do you remember Yeshua’s words in Mark 1:15 where He said: “Repent you, and believe the gospel.”? To Repent is to turn from sinning. Sinning is breaking YHWH’s Torah/Laws/Teachings and Instructions. A true Believer is one who has repented/turned away from sinning against the Torah and starts keeping/doing/obeying His Ten Commandments, and then be baptized according to Acts 2:38 where it says: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Set-Apart [Holy] Spirit.”
Through a lifetime of overcoming sin, the Believer qualifies for (though he/she can never “earn”) salvation and spiritual birth into the Kingdom of YHWH.
Preaching The Kingdom of YHWH Today
In Matthew Chapters 24 and 25 we have what is known as the Olivet Discourse/Prophecy where Yeshua was asked about those events that would be the signs of His Second Coming and of “the end of the world [age].” He answered by saying there will be a number of different trends and conditions which will occur first. We read in Matthew 24:14 where Yeshua stated, “And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” The true gospel was prophesied to be preached until “the end come.” This tells us that someone will be preaching the gospel until Yeshua returns to establish His Kingdom here on earth.
The gospel is being preached/taught in some Churches of Almighty YHWH today in various forms/ways!
The Kingdom of YHWH is Coming
Yeshua will soon return to earth and establish YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth. No man has in the past nor presently been able to single handedly set-up a world-ruling government that works. United States Congressmen, if honest, will freely admit that a perfect government will not happen here in America or any other country for that matter because man is imperfect. They will tell you, it is not possible. Thankfully, this is not what Yeshua will do when He comes to establish YHWH’s Kingdom here on earth.
Looking at what Daniel wrote:
Daniel 2:44: And in the days of these kings shall the Elohim of heaven set up a Kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the Kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these [man-made] kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
The Kingdom of YHWH will reign over the entire earth. This means ALL nations and the resurrected saints shall share this reign with Yeshua.
Yeshua clearly stated in Matthew 5:5 what is known as the “Sermon on the Mount” that “the meek [humble/gentle/modest/mild] shall inherit the earth.” When Yeshua stated this, He was quoting Psalm 37:11, where David said exactly the same thing.
Now let’s look at Daniel 7 and examine three separate verses. First, we will look at Daniel 7:18:
Daniel 7:18: But the saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom [of men], and possess the Kingdom [of YHWH] forever, even forever and ever.
Daniel 7:22: Until the Ancient of Days [Yeshua here, and YHWH in verse 13] came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the Kingdom [of YHWH].
Daniel 7:27: And the Kingdom [of YHWH] and dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and all dominions [rulers] shall serve and obey Him [Yeshua].
It should be clear here that Daniel understood that it will be the saints who will be reigning on the earth!
Now, let’s take a close look at three separate passages in the book of Revelation. Through John, Yeshua states:
Revelation 3:21: To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with Me [Yeshua] in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father [YHWH] in His throne.
