Was George Washington Right?
Let us look at what could be one of the most amazing prophecies in American history, which was once familiar to thousands of Americans but sadly it is now mostly forgotten.
In 1859, a Revolutionary War soldier named Anthony Sherman gave a detailed account of an astonishing prophecy to a writer named Wesley Bradshaw, who then published Sherman’s recollections in The National Tribune in 1880. According to what Sherman said, God did leave this country with a prophecy. He left this prophecy to one of America’s Founding Fathers, General George Washington. He received a startling vision from an angel when he was at Valley Forge in Pennsylvania during the winter of 1777. George Washington conveyed this vision to Anthony Sherman who was then a young soldier serving as an aide to Washington.
George Washington’s prophecy detailed three great events that would come upon this nation in the years ahead:
The first was the Revolutionary War of which George Washington was in the midst of going through at that time.
The second was the American Civil War, which began shortly after Anthony Sherman’s death.
The description of the third war coincides remarkably with what the book of Revelation tells us about one final conflagration that will usher in the Second Coming.
These first two wars have now taken place precisely as prophesied. Beyond that, in George Washington’s own words as has been reported by Anthony Sherman, the angelic being who delivered this vision to George Washington ended his message this way:
“Son of the Republic, what you have seen is thus interpreted: Three great perils will come upon the Republic. The most fearful is the third, but in this greatest conflict, the whole world united shall not prevail against her. Let every child of the Republic learn to live for his God, his land, and the Union.”
Washington himself then concluded: “With these words the vision vanished, and I started from my seat and felt that I had seen a vision wherein had been shown to me the birth, progress, and destiny of the United States.”
According to the details of Washington’s vision, in that final conflict America will be invaded by many nations from all over the globe, and for all intents and purposes America will be on the verge of defeat. Except that, at the very end, YHWH reminds America of what He instructed us to do more than two hundred years previously, which amounted to three things that We Americans should live for:
The unity of purpose, effort, and respect for each other’s God-given rights on which the United States was built
What Really Lies Ahead?
Down through the years, some people have suggested that what has become known as “George Washington’s Vision,” as noted above, could be a fake. Sadly, those people have and still do miss the point entirely. Whether it really happened or not, the message it contains is appropriate, timely, and it is pretty much irrefutable. America has already survived the two wars in the vision that was given to George Washington that was predicted. Now, if we consider both what the Bible says and any reasonable understanding of current events, putting them together; we can see a strong case that suggest that this country will someday very soon face some hard times of testing unlike anything we’ve seen in the past. It is safe to say that those hard times are just around the corner and we should not take George Washington’s vision lightly. Meanwhile, things are not likely to be anywhere near as easy for most of us as they’ve been for the last fifty, sixty or even seventy years.
America is more than two hundred years old (244) now and sometimes we show signs of ageing. In fact, some of our Wrinkles have turned into fault lines, and some of what we once recognized as minor political differences have now inflated and they have become earthquakes and tsunamis.
Even so, YHWH has not given up on us and therefore we would be crazy to give up on ourselves. YHWH blessed America from her beginning and He has stayed with us through some of the world’s major upheavals. He is with America now. He is standing at the door waiting with His loving open arms outstretched to welcome us back to His embrace if we will only reach back to Him.
In the end — literally — this is what it’s all about. Whether we have twenty years, thirty years, or even more before the final Judgment Day, to paraphrase Ecclesiastes 12:1, we have plenty of time to “remember our Creator” - perhaps no longer in the “days of our youth” but certainly in every day that passes from now on.
This is what will determine how YHWH will deal with the United States of America in the end times. As the book “George Washington’s Prophetic Vision – It’s Relevance to 2020’s America” is now finalize and the book is now published, we urge you to buy several copies to give to family members, friends and co-workers. This message is timely and it needs to get out to every American. Do whatever you can to revamp, revitalize, and renew your love, respect and heartfelt devotion toward YHWH who Created us that once characterized most of our country.
This country still calls itself the home of the free and the land of the brave, but we are only free when we truly trust in YHWH and maintain an ongoing personal relationship with Him. And if we are not willing to acknowledge, to trust, and to lean exclusively on Him, we cannot possibly be strong and brave enough to remain triumphant through the rougher portions of the end times that we will eventually have to endure.
What’s true for all of us as individuals is true for our country as well. Through a prophesy which was delivered to George Washington, at the very moment when this country was going through its birth pangs, YHWH forewarned all of us of what would be our eventual destiny if we rejected Him.
Is Anyone Awake?
May we all choose wisely. And may the contents of “George Washington’s Prophetic Vision – It’s Relevance to 2020’s America” along with the companion book titled “Who Are You America? – Time to Lift Your Prophetic Veil” help open the eyes of each person who reads these books. In the book “Who Are You America? – Time to Lift Your Prophetic Veil,” the reader will learn the mystery of who she really is. Then the reader will understand why YHWH was and still is at this point with America.
Let all Americans want what He wants for us, a personal one-on-one relationship.

ANGEL OF LIBERTY - THE VISION OF GEORGE WASHINGTON by Jon McNaughton
Every scribe instructed concerning the
Kingdom of Heaven is like a householder who
brings out his treasure
things new and old.
Professor C.A.L. Totten, of Yale University says:
“I can never be too thankful to the Almighty that in my youth he used Professor Wilson to show me the difference between the two houses of Israel. The very understanding of this difference is the KEY by which almost the entire Bible becomes intelligible, and I cannot state too strongly that the man who has not yet seen that Israel of the Scripture is totally distinct from the Jewish people, is yet in the very infancy, the mere alphabet, of Biblical study, and that to this day the meaning of seven-eighths of the Bible is shut to his understanding.”
The Soldier Who Could Not Die
From the Soldiers Psalm:
“1 He who dwells in the most secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him will I trust.” 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 11 For He has given His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.”
(Psalm 91:1-2, 5, 7 and 11, NKJV)
By all accounts young George Washington seems to have been the recipient of God’s supernatural charge or protection-so much so that he became known as the “The Soldier Who Could Not Die!”
In the French and Indian War (1753-1763), the Americans and their English and Indian allies fought the French and their Indian allies. In 1755, twenty-three-year-old Colonel Washington brought 100 Virginia buckskins to join forces with veteran General Edward Braddock and his 1,300 British troops on an expedition to oust the French from western Pennsylvania. Their combined force reached a point seven miles from the French fort, and while following a path through a wooded ravine, they marched directly into a waiting ambush; the enemy opened fire on them from both sides.
Braddock’s soldiers were veterans from European wars that were traditionally fought on open ground rather than in woods such as in Pennsylvania. When the British came under fire, they lined up shoulder to shoulder along the bottom of the ravine and, not surprisingly were slaughtered. Over the next two hours, 714 were shot down, with only thirty of the French and Indians being shot- nearly all of those by Washington’s buckskins, who were accustomed to woodland warfare and had sought cover when the attack began.
Of the eighty-six British and American officers in the battle, sixty-two were either killed or wounded. George Washington was the only mounted officer not shot down off his horse, though he had been particularly vulnerable, having courageously ridden back and forth along the front lines delivering General Braddock’s orders among the troops.
When General Braddock was mortally wounded, Washington took command, gathered the panicked troops, and retreated to Virginia. Along the way Braddock died; and Washington, whose requests for military chaplains for the Virginia troops had been regularly refused by the governor of Virginia, took on himself the role of a military chaplain, personally conducting the funeral service, reading Scriptures and offering prayers.
Washington and his bedraggled men finally reached Fort Cumberland in Western Maryland on July 17, 1755. Word had spread across the colonies that all the troops had been killed, so Washington promptly wrote his family, assuring them that he was still alive, but only as a result of what he describes as the “Miraculous care of Providence.” He also told his brother:
“I have heard since my arrival at this place [Fort Cumberland] a circumstantial account of my death and dying speech, I take this opportunity of contradicting the first and of assuring you that I have not yet composed the latter. But by the all-powerful dispensations of Providence, I have been protected beyond all human probability and expectation, for I had four bullets through my coat and two horses shot under me yet escaped unhurt, although death was levelling my companions on every side of me.”
A word of God’s supernatural protection of Washington swept the colonies, the Rev. Samuel Davies – considered the greatest pulpit preacher in America and a notable leader in the national revival known as “THE GREAT AWAKENING” (1730-1770)-suggested that the manner in which God had directly intervened to preserve the young and largely unknown Washington certainly seemed to indicate that “Providence has hitherto preserved him…for some important service to his country…”
Additional confirmation of just how miraculous Washington’s preservation had been came later in 1770. Washington had returned to the same Pennsylvania woods in which he had earlier fought, but this time on a peaceful surveying mission. While preparing for the campaign against the French, the British government had General Braddock offer Virginia colonials parcels of land in Ohio in exchange for their combat service. Braddock’s disastrous encounter with the French forces at the Monongahela River site also brought about the deaths of many men of the Virginia regiment. Washington was intent on seeing to it that the British kept their promises to these veterans and the families of fallen soldiers. In 1770, Washington was permitted to notify all claimants that surveying of approved lands would proceed, and once completed; the lands would be parceled out to veterans or their heirs. The scouting party consisted of Colonel Washington, fellow veteran and surveyor, William Crawford, Joseph Nicholson, and Dr. James Craik, a lifelong friend of Washington’s, and who attended him in his final hours. They set out from Fort Pitt by canoe to explore possible bounty sites and the “Soldier’s Land.”
While at camp in the woods off the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers the group was approached by a party of non-threatening looking natives who apparently had been tracking the progress of these “white” colonials because their Chief had long wanted to meet Washington. The Chief indicated that he wanted to talk with Washington, so a Council fire was soon kindled and, with Joseph Nicholson serving as interpreter, the Chief revealed that it was he who commanded the ambush on the British and Virginian soldiers on the banks of the Monongahela River. The Grand Sachem continued:
“I am a Chief and ruler over many tribes. My influence extends to the waters of the Great Lakes, and to the far Blue Mountains. I have travelled a long and weary path that I might see the young warrior of the great battle. It was on the day when the white man’s blood mixed with the streams of our forest that I first beheld this chief (Washington). I called to my young men and said, mark yon tall and daring warrior. He is not of the red-coat tribe – he hath an Indian’s wisdom and his warriors fight as we do - himself alone exposed. Quick let your aim be certain, and he dies. Our riffles were levelled, riffles which, but for you, did not miss – ‘twas all in vain; a power mightier far than we, shielded him from harm. He did not die in battle.3 I am old, and shall be gathering to the great council fire by my fathers, in the land of shades, but ere I go, there is a something bids me to speak, in the voice of prophesy……….”
“LISTEN! THE GREAT SPIRIT PROTECTS THAT MAN, AND GUIDES HIS DESTINIES; HE WILL BECOME THE CHIEF OF MANY NATIONS, AND A PEOPLE YET UNBORN WILL HAIL HIM AS THE FOUNDER OF A MIGHTY EMPIRE. I AM COME TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE MAN WHO IS THE PARTICULAR FAVORITE OF HEAVEN, AND WHO CAN NEVER DIE IN BATTLE.”
At the time of this meeting Dr. Craik took careful notes of what the Chief said, and the “Indian Prophecy” has been included in many history books, ever since.
This ancient leather-faced Indian chief had heard that Washington was back in the area and he travelled to meet him, explaining, “I have travelled a long and weary path that I might see the young warrior of the great battle.”
Over a council fire the chief declared, that he had been a leader with the French fifteen years earlier and then recounted the famous battle from his perspective. He explained that he had ordered his braves to single out the officers and shoot them down, and that Washington had been specifically targeted. The chief proudly announced that his own rifle had never before been known to miss, but after personally firing at Washington seventeen times without effect, he concluded that Washington was under the care of the Great Spirit. He therefore instructed his braves to stop firing at him, confessing to Washington that he had “come to pay homage to the man who is the particular favorite of Heaven, and who [can] never die in battle.”
Red Hawk, another Indian chief in the battle, similarly testified that of shooting eleven times at Washington without hitting him. And because his gun also never missed its mark, he, too ceased firing at him, likewise convinced that the Great Spirit protected him.
Twenty-four years later in the 1779 Battle of Brandywine, a similar Divine intervention occurred. Throughout that battle, British Major Patrick Ferguson, a renowned riffle shot and head of the British sharpshooters, quietly moved his men around in the forest, singling out one American after another, shooting them down. As the battle proceeded, he pointed out the next target to his men, and he and his three best sharpshooters drew down on the unsuspecting victim. But just before Ferguson ordered them to fire, he experienced a surprising impulse, later recounting that the thought of shooting that particular soldier suddenly disgusted him. The American officer, now in point-blank range, turned and looked directly at Ferguson, locking eyes with him over the sights of Ferguson’s rifle. After a few moments, the American slowly turned his horse, deliberately showed his fully exposed back to Ferguson, and then calmly cantered away.
Ferguson recalled: “I could have lodged half a dozen balls in him before he was out of my reach…but I let him live.” He later discovered that it had been General George Washington whom he had allowed to live.
Early historian Lyman Draper observed of this incident:
Had Washington fallen, it is difficult to calculate its probable effect upon the result of the struggle of the American people….This singular impulse of Ferguson illustrates in a forcible manner the overruling hand of Providence in directing the operations of a man’s mind when he himself is least aware of it.
This is Stephen J. Spykerman’s latest book. This book contains George Washington’s Three Peril Visions. Each vision is explained with the last vision being the worst of all three visions.
The Third Peril Vision is a timely vision. If we take a bird’s eye view of everything that has and is taking place in America, it is clear to see that America is moving rapidly into the Third Peril.
The angel who visited George Washington said to him:
“SON OF THE REPUBLIC LOOK AND LEARN!”
It would appear that this third peril to come upon America is an invasion of massive forces coming by land and sea. Those hostile armies numbering multiple millions of men, coming in a great alliance of nations from Europe, Asia, and Africa are apparently able to devastate and destroy the whole country by burning the villages, towns, and cities of the nation. This kind of destruction, accompanied by thick black clouds enveloping the whole country, and accompanied by a mysterious dark red light, brings to mind devastating nuclear warfare being waged on American soil.

‘The Scriptures confirm Washington’s 3rd Vision.’
STEPHEN SPYKERMAN HAVING BEEN STIRRED by George Washington’s vision of the Third Peril felt motivated to check the main aspects of the vision against the prophecies of the Bible. To his astonishment, he found that the Great Prophets of the Bible starting with Moses through to the Psalms of King David, the prophetic words of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Hosea and others, all the way to Jesus Christ, confirm George Washington’s vision! They not only confirm it but they also provide additional detail. It is this amazing fact that the Scriptures of the Bible authenticate this vision, and it is this fact and this fact alone which compelled the author to write this book!
“Who Are You America?” - Contains an astonishing prophetic message for our time, as it brings the revelation of an ancient secret about America’s true ancestry and heritage. In this spellbinding book, the reader is enticed along a path of exciting discovery in which age old concepts are presented in a wholly new way. The subject matter concerns America’s connection with Israel both ancient and modern. The reader cannot fail to be impressed by the revelatory explanation given to every aspect of America’s colorful heraldry. It literally is an eye opening experience! After you have read this book and studied its illustrations, you will never be able to look at either the Great Seal of America or the Presidential Seal in the same light again. This connection is truly astounding, and in fact the dissemination of this knowledge has a potential akin to dynamite, which has global geopolitical reverberations. “Who Are You America?” - Removes the veil that has lain over the true ancestry and the incredible origins of the American and related peoples of this world. It’s author offers a stark call for American’s to wake up and rise to the incredible promise of their amazing heritage. At the same time the reader is shown how in these perilous times the fortunes of the nation might be restored. Whilst this may be a little book, it nevertheless carries a BIG message, which is of the greatest importance and relevance to every citizen of the United States of America.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
STEPHEN J. SPYKERMAN, was born the fourth son of a Dutch father and an English mother in September 1940 during the Nazi occupation of Holland. The family escaped the Holocaust due to his parent’s Catholic religion plus the fact that his mother was English and thus, she was seen as English rather than the Jewish woman. Stephen’s early years were full of excitement and danger, as their house for some time became the emergency headquarters for the Dutch resistance in his region. His father was arrested by the Nazi authorities and held for some time in a special prison for people who were considered influential in their local communities. His parents also sheltered Henny Cohen, a Jewish woman, who was hiding whilst on the run from the Nazi’s. At the same time their formidable children’s nanny worked as a courier for the Dutch resistance.
Having received a solid general education, Stephen spurned the higher education his parents had hoped for and entered the world of retail fashion at the age of nineteen. He eventually left his hometown to try his luck in London, where he followed a generations old family tradition by becoming a tailor in a variety of high-class fashion houses. In 1965, he married Virginia Edwards. In time, he left the fashion industry and took up a more lucrative career in financial services. During his successful career, he pioneered a number of new schemes and concepts in charitable giving and seminar selling and became an international speaker in his field. His interest in public speaking led him to direct his own public speaking club. He, together with a colleague, he founded An International Speakers Bureau in London.
Stephen has a special interest in the State of Israel. He is a Member of the Temple Institute in Jerusalem. He is the Co-Founder of ‘COI’ - The Commonwealth Of Israel in Jerusalem, an organization whose purpose is to foster reconciliation between Ephraim, the so called Lost Tribes of the House of Israel and the House of Judah. Once retired from day to day business, he founded Mount Ephraim Publishing and started writing books and to this day continues to give lectures on his research. Stephen Spykerman has addressed audiences and conferences all over Europe, Israel and North America. “Has the Law been Nailed to the Cross?” is his first booklet.
